The purpose of the Living Temagami Arts and Culture is to promote community interest, engagement, appreciation, and education in the arts, culture, heritage, local history, and other areas.
“Although many may have had an opportunity to explore digital tools during this pandemic, not everyone is comfortable with new technology and online programs,” she said in an email message to The Speaker.
Since January 2021, Living Temagami has began hosting the Raven’s Nest Acoustic Music Concert Series, courtesy of funding through the Ontario Ministry for Seniors and accessibility
The Raven’s Nest is found on the mezzanine level at the Temagami Station. The space acts as a combination intimate music concert venue and art gallery for painters, photographers and artisans displaying and vending their original works. The acoustics of the Raven’s Nest are very lively in terms of resonance and natural reverb, which gives our space a classy, historic music venue feel.
During January – May 2021, concerts were digitally presented every final Sunday of the month, and made available for FREE online for a few weeks afterwards. We look forward to continuing this concert series in the years ahead.
The Raven’s Nest compliments and builds upon the musical offerings found through the Temagami Community Summer Market Saturday Music series. We are delighted to support the local and regional music scenes by highlighting the many talented musicians, singers, and songwriters in our area.
Living Temagami recognizes music as an integral part of the arts scene in northeast Ontario and hopes to foster and promote the singer-songwriters and musicians.
